This is just what we need: some first world renowned bigwig waxing lyrical about how backwards our AIDS policy is - which it is. Why does our new 'democratic' government bother to go to these AIDS functions at all? People already think Africa is backwards enough without our irrational compounding to this perception. South Africa seemed to be heading forwards - away from it's past. A new democracy, shiny happy society, a role model for the world. Recently, the house seems to be showing it's weaknesses; are the cards falling?
Also interesting to note how the 'state' is noted to flex it's muscle to dissident voices. Sound familiar South Africans? Have we really ushered in an age of new democracy or is this the last government in black clothing?
Poodles on the go.
